Save the date! Join Boricuas Unidos en la Diáspora, activist Dean Huertas, and other Puerto Rican leaders for a discussion of current issues on the island—and how the Puerto Rican diaspora and allies in the U.S. can support the struggle for a free, just, and prosperous future for Puerto Rico.
Our panelists, based on the island and in the diaspora, will bring perspectives from politics, activism, and culture to conversations about what Puerto Rico needs in this moment and how U.S.-based Puerto Ricans and allies can support our people. Our speakers will be:
- Marlyn Goyco García, leader of the Puerto Rico No Se Vende / Not Your Tax Haven Campaign at Popular Democracy In Action
- Dean Huertas, activist, content creator, and 2025 National Puerto Rican Day Parade Influencer of the Year
- Issel Masses Ferrer, founder and executive director of Sembrando Sentido, a Puerto Rican nonprofit focused on transparency and accountability
- Calvin Yohannan, BUDPR board member and digital strategist
The event will also be an opportunity to build community among boricuas and friends in the greater D.C. era. We're excited to hold the event at the iconic Qui Qui restaurant and to enjoy food, drinks, and conversation with our guests.
