Join Boricuas Unidos en la Diáspora (BUDPR) and the Chicago Forum for Free Inquiry and Expression for a conversation with Juan Dalmau on The Ongoing Struggle for Puerto Rican Independence.

Juan Dalmau is the Secretary General of the Puerto Rican Independence Party and was its 2024 candidate for Governor, when he came in second and won a historic 31% of the vote in a four-way race. Dalmau will provide a legal and historical overview of Puerto Rico's colonial status, make the argument for independence, and engage in conversation about the struggle to decolonize Puerto Rico during this challenging time in American politics.
