Join Boricuas Unidos en la Diáspora, the Puerto Rican Independence Party in the Diaspora, and the University of Denver's Latin American Center for a lecture, Puerto Rico and Trump's Imperial Boomerang: Lessons from the Independence Movement, by Professor Jenaro Abraham.

Prof. Abraham examines how Puerto Rico’s long struggle for sovereignty sheds light on the contradictions of U.S. empire under Donald Trump. By tracing the “imperial boomerang”—how colonial practices abroad return to shape politics within the United States—this lecture uncovers urgent lessons about authoritarianism, decolonization, and the possibilities of building a more just political future.

This event is free and open to the public, and lunch will be provided. RSVP to receive updates and reminders!
